Welcome to the Collector’s Room
Welcome to the Collector’s Room.
I’m so glad you’re here!
This is a space where I’ll be sharing the heart of EBC Loft. My creative studio oasis where art, design, and storytelling come together. Through branding concepts, commission paintings, and illustration, I’m building work that reflects our culture, honors beauty, and serves with purpose.
Studio Quote:
The quickest way to succeed is to start now and figure it out as you go. You don’t learn to swim by reading about water.

Inside EBC Loft: Introducing Black Owned
Black Owned - 36” x 36” - mixed media - $1,296
For this first issue, I want to introduce Black Owned, a featured piece from my series Rosy Paradox.
Rosy Paradox explores themes deeply rooted in the Black experience: joy, persistence, growth, and the tension between abundance and the illusions we are often told to accept. With Black Owned, I wanted to capture something honest, colorful, and alive; something that speaks to the richness I see in our community and the power of building something for ourselves. Through bold color and layered symbolism, Black Owned celebrates the resilience, richness, and creative power that continue to shape our community.
On the Easel
This piece came from a season where I was rethinking not only what I create, but what it means to build a life around that creation. I added the interstate sign in the glasses to represent the journey of transition I’m going through. If you notice, it says, “Next Stop: Black Owned, 1 mile.”
I landed on that focal point after reading Atomic Habits. In the book, the concept of the 1% rule encourages readers to grow by 1% every day and allow that improvement to compound over time. I like to think of myself as always moving one step closer to my goal of owning my business in a way that allows me to live with both security and adventure.
Building Something Bigger
One of the biggest mindset shifts I’ve had to make as an entrepreneur is letting go of the safety net of a biweekly paycheck and learning to trust that abundance is all around me. I just need to tap into it in a new way. That shift has challenged me, stretched me, and reminded me that building a creative life requires both faith and discipline.
What’s Next in the Studio
Inside the studio, I’m currently developing branding concepts for clients and making room for new opportunities. I’m also working on new pieces in the Rosy Paradox series, including work that explores food insecurity through the contrast between nature’s abundance and the scarcity created by humanity.
Culture Contemplation
My hope is that this space gives you a closer look at the work, the process, and the vision behind EBC Loft; and that it encourages you to pursue what’s calling you, even when the road feels uncertain.
I’d love to know: What does abundance mean to you in this social climate?
Keep creating. Keep innovating. Keep believing.Thank you for being in the room.— Edmond B. Murden
